OUR MISSION:
THE FIRST FIFTY YEARS project has four primary goals:
1. To show how the Pilgrims planted and nurtured the seeds of American democracy – the movement from monarchy to self-determination that began in England with the enactment of the treasonous 1606 Scrooby Covenant by the Non-Conforming Separatists who became known as the Mayflower Pilgrims – and how the Native Americans, who were already practicing participatory democracy, contributed to the process.
2. To correct the misbeliefs and misconceptions concerning the remarkable 54 years of peace and friendship between the Mayflower Pilgrims and the Pokanoket band of Wampanoag Indians between the years 1621 and 1675.
3. To show the spiritual alignment of the Pilgrims and the Native Americans.
4. To show that settler/Indian interaction led to the evolution of the American mind and spirit.

Now as we honor the 400th anniversary of the landing of the Mayflower, Cameron/Baxter Films has completed decades-long research of relevant historical materials, with interviews of the leading scholars and historians in the field, consultations with Native American elders, and have created and premiered the documentary film, “SEEDS OF FREEDOM: A Vision for America” written the screenplay for a dramatic film, and an historical mystery novel – “The Mayflower Revelations” all aimed at accomplishing the above four goals.
There is a core wound in the heart of America. The dramatic, inspiring story of The First Fifty Years is shrouded in misinformation and misbelief, which has led to anger, blame, shame and guilt. Consequently, this nation is morally paralyzed. America was founded by visionaries who articulated a vision for humanity in its freedom documents: The Mayflower Compact, The Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. America has yet to live up to the promise it made to the world in those documents.
This project brings a healing perspective to America’s Origin Story. It brings honor to both the Pilgrims and the Indians. The extraordinary fifty-four years of inter-cultural peace and friendship between the Mayflower Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians exemplified the human potential at Plymouth Plantation, 1621-1675. It was an exception to the human condition then, and now! We are calling it “The First Great Synthesis” between Europeans and American Indians. “The Second Great Synthesis” was when principles of the Iroquois Great Law were integrated into the US Constitution. Now is the time for “UNITY 2020! The Third Great Synthesis.”

“THE FIRST FIFTY YEARS Project is a practical application of the concepts found in their book and film, using The First Fifty Years as a model for how we can apply inspiration and trust in our own lives NOW!
We are grateful to the many loving friends and supporters who contributed over $15,000 to our Indigogo crowdfunding campaigns which allowed us to upgrade our video equipment to broadcast quality production capability and journey to New England for the summer of 2014 to continue our decade-long research and interviews.
Our fund-raising is on-going. Please help us take a step on the high road to realizing the true American Dream: freedom, justice and abundance for all. To get there, we must first understand the significance of the Pilgrim, the Indian and the trust-based world-view that guided them.
